Official Rules
Q. WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO ENTER?
A. This competition is open to any and all Adobe Photoshop users, at any skill level. However, employees, instructors, and staff of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP), and their families are not eligible to enter.
Q. WHAT ARE THE ENTRY FEES?
A. The Entry Fee is $35.00 (U.S. Dollars) per piece, and you may enter a total of up to three pieces. NAPP members may enter up to three pieces at $25.00 per piece.
Q. WHAT CAN I WIN?
A.The Best of Show winner will go on assignment for Photoshop User magazine to Rome, Italy to create a cover image for the magazine. Photoshop User will provide round-trip airfare for the winner, and an assistant of their choice, along with hotel accommodations, hotel transfers, and daily expenses. The cover they create will be used on a cover of Photoshop User magazine.
Q. WHAT IF I LIVE IN ROME, ITALY AND I WIN THE GRAND PRIZE?
A. Then Photoshop User will bring you to New York City for your assignment.
Q. WHEN IS THE ENTRY DEADLINE?
A. All entries must be submitted by 12:00 midnight on December 31, 2006. All entries sent via postal service must be postmarked no later than December 31, 2006.
Q. WHEN WILL THE WINNERS BE ANNOUNCED?
A. The winners will be announced February 1, 2007.

Q. WHEN IS THE SUBMISSION DEADLINE?
A. All material submissions must be submitted before the December 31, 2006 deadline.
Q. WHAT ARE THE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
A. Any images submitted for judging must have been created between January 1, 2006 and December 31, 2006. The National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP) assumes all entries are original Photoshop creations and are the works and property of the entrant, with all rights granted therein. The NAPP is not liable for any copyright infringement on the part of the entrant. Modifying, enhancing, or altering someone else's existing artwork does not qualify as an original creation, however stock photography may be used and modified in your entries. 3rd party plug-ins and other applications may be used to create your artwork, but the primary tool for the creation of your entry must be Adobe Photoshop. Entries must not defame or invade publicity rights or privacy of any person, living or deceased, or otherwise infringe upon any personal or proprietary rights of any third party.
You may submit a minimum of one (1) to a maximum of three (3) individual pieces in one or more of the following categories (no more than three images in total may be submitted):
- General Photography (digital or traditional scanned images manipulated or collaged in Photoshop)
- Illustration (original creations drawn or created in Photoshop)
- Artistic (artistic creations)
- Photo Restoration (Restoring or repairing damaged images - die: rips, scratches, tears, faded photos, etc.)
- Wedding and Portrait Photography (Wedding or Portrait images enhanced using Photoshop.)
- Landscape & Travel Photography (Outdoor photography enhanced or corrected, or processed in Photoshop)
- Photo Retouching (Retouching people, landscapes, architectural images, commercial retouching, etc.)
- Commercial (Images used in brochures, annual report collages, advertising, logos, etc.)
- Photo Montage (Collage of images).
- Student Work (Images created or manipulated by students. NOTE: A valid student ID is required to enter work in this category).
- General Photoshop Design (Images that don't fit into one of the categories listed above, die: cartoons, Photoshop graffiti art, tattoo art, medical imagery, astronomy, etc.).
NAPP reserves the right to re categorize entries and to create new categories, if appropriate.
Q. HOW MANY PIECES MAY I ENTER?
A. An individual may enter a total of three pieces in the competition.
Q. WHAT FORMATS DO YOU ACCEPT FOR SUBMITTING MY IMAGES?
A. All entries must be submitted as follows:
- An image size no larger than 1250px-wide or 1250px-high @ 4Mb Max. JPEG Only.
- Entries not complying with the contest rules are subject to disqualification.
Q. WHERE DO I SEND MY ARTWORK?
A. You must submit a completed registration form by clicking here. The email address for submitting artwork is found on the registration form as well.
The NAPP and its co-sponsors, affiliates, and agencies are not responsible for damaged attachments, or for late or misdirected email or postal submissions. All submitted media (CD-ROM and Zip discs) become the property of NAPP and will not be returned.
A. Selection of as many as 60 finalists will be conducted by NAPP's creative team. Those finalists will then be sent to a panel of judges, drawn from the some of the best known names in the Photoshop industry. The panel will consist of any or all of the following: photographers, creative directors, art directors, Web designers, Photoshop experts, author, and graphic designers.
